Our vision is to see men’s lives, families, and workplaces transformed by God through a growing evangelism and disciple-making movement in every community across our nation.
CBMC began in the United States in 1930 as Christian Business Men’s Committee, when a small group of Christian businessmen coordinated a series of pre-Easter prayer rallies. With the Great Depression in its second year, these men saw an urgent need for spiritual revival and took it upon themselves to plan a six-week evangelistic series of meetings at the Garrick Theater, in the Chicago loop area. Public response to the first gathering on January 6, 1931, was overwhelming, as more than 800 packed into the 800-seat facility for all six sessions. As the meetings were drawing to a close, the downtown Chicago business community wanted to continue the gatherings as more and more men were experiencing life change through their newfound relationship with Christ.
Similar groups were soon popping all over the nation: Atlanta, Washington, DC, Orange County, California, Fresno, and many other large, medium, and small cities began staging their own version of these outreaches. The ministry moved its Support Center from Chicago to Chattanooga in the 1970’s. As the years passed, the work spread across the United States to fulfill an insatiable need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The decade of the 70’s also saw the first release of a remarkable tool, known as Operation Timothy. There was a felt need for a discipleship tool to help men ignite their walk with Christ. OT was designed to be used for one-on-one applications where a mentor (whom we call a Paul, sits down with someone wishing to know more (a Timothy) and together they embark upon a transformational journey of exploring Christ’s word.
In the 1990’s, CBMC officially changed its name to Christian Business Men’s Connection, but no matter what the name, there have been tens of thousands of intentional businessmen that have made this ministry thrive. These businessmen embraced two core beliefs: share the gospel with those who don’t know the Good News and then go and make disciples: Be intentional about carrying out The Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19).

Raised in a Christian home in a small college town in Southeast Missouri, Jeffrey has traveled on a unique road of triumph & tribulation.
Blessed with superior size, strength, and athleticism, Jeffrey earned a division-one football scholarship & competed as a dual sport athlete for a championship program in the SEC for 5-years.
Jeffrey gave his life to Christ on May 14, 1978 and his salvation was secure. Due to his immaturity & strong flesh, he struggled to make Jesus Lord of his life, foolishly choosing Jeffrey as lord of his ring.
Through a series of painful trials, Jesus was knocking on the door of his heart to repent & make Jesus Lord.
On November 25, 1995, Jeffrey accidently spilled a pot of flaming grease over 18% of his body, resulting in 3rd degree burns on Jeffrey’s hand, foot and leg.
During this period of physical, mental, emotional, financial, & spiritual brokenness, Jeffrey cried out to the Lord, repented, and began walking with Jesus daily.
In 2009, Jeffrey was blessed to begin meeting with Stan Bower each week to begin the discipleship process of transforming Jeffrey’s “stinkin thinkin” into a biblical mindset.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NASB
Today, Jeffrey is a disciple of Jesus Christ disguised by many of these life-events.
Jeffrey is married to his beautiful wife, Tonya Sue Hammond-Tullis. They reside in Kapolei, HI, where they are raising their daughter, Hannah-Marie.
On Monday, October 2, 2023, Jeffrey accepted the call to join CBMC as the Area Director of Hawaiʻi.
Jeffrey is devoted to helping his family and other men discover how they too can live and work while, “doing well in the things that matter”.
Intimacy with Jesus is at the heart of everything. We follow His lead, reflect His character, and keep Him central in all we do.
Galatians 2:20
We exist to fulfill Jesus’ command to reach and disciple.
Matthew 28:19-20
We seek spiritual multiplication to the 4th generation and beyond.
2 Timothy 2:2
We are passionate about life-on-life relationships and thrive in authentic, intentional community.
Hebrews 10:24-25
We are together on one mission.
Romans 12:4-5
We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are sinners in thought, word and deed.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in “That blessed hope”, the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. Further, we believe in the eternal security of the believer.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
